Reality is not something you directly access, it’s something your mind constructs under constraints you don’t fully control
To exist is to think that’s the core philosophy idea of Rene Descartes which is “I think therefore I am”. His claim that thinking is the first thing which is come when we think about reality is maybe right at some point but it still raises many questions about how you think the way you think. Because human beings may lived in the same planet and world but their thinking of reality or the world is totally different. So it’s become a problem in the reality question that if a person think he is exist, how would be to verify that the projection he was on reality is actually true and not a simulation theory.
Because this may come up to simulation theory, that the world you’re living is not a real world or not a actual reality maybe something has been programmed for you already. Nietzsche said that yeah there are no actual truth just all assumptions and perceptions. Since we have already talked about Rene Descartes one of the weakest point in his philosophy that the existence of god, we can take this example to understand what somewhat the projection for reality would be. For example he says that the human being is imperfect and in order to prove that god is exist he said that the mind first need to exist where we get his famous philosophy which is “I think therefore I am” and after the mind need to think about the perfect infinite being (which is god in this case) and then you can say that the idea of god is true in the existence.
But his argument here in this is really weak when you think about it for example if you’re imperfect as a human being when how can you project something like a perfect being and also how can you say that the projection of perfect being is right in your senses. Humans beings doesn’t think from a straight stand point when you think or articulate something the brain connects with our own personal beliefs, faith, conscience, knowledge, information we already and it connect through all the dots to perform a information or argument when talking so if that could be the case then how we can say that a human being can created a perfect which is absolute true when all humans brains think differently.
For reality to exist we just don’t only need the mind we also need physical cognitive abilities like viewing, touching, hearing. But again just by mind and body itself still cannot prove the reality because what if you’re in a dream and the dream is going totally accordingly to you so it just become a virtual reality of your own you can’t know that while having a dream. So mind, body, and thinking and physical cognitive abilities also cannot prove reality. Also we need to understand the limit of reality because your brain can imagine as much as you can can to think the biggest possibility ever but your physical body can only travel through a particular amount of time depending your physical strength and power, that’s create a separation with your mind and body.
Now by going through of these things we can came up with these kind of thinking and assumption and some of them are “radical skepticism” which is nothing about reality can be proven only subjective experience exists. “Pragmatism” you can’t prove reality is real but you can act as if it is, because it’s consistent and functional or “Constructivism” reality is not purely objective it is a mix of external structure and internal interpretation.
Reality is not something you directly access — it’s something your mind constructs under constraints you don’t fully control. Reality is constructed by the mind under constraints, and certainty is impossible live through your own best and accurate interpretations of your own and create meaning anyway (this sound really vague but it’s the most possible way) . You cannot access objective reality directly, but you are constrained by it. You cannot find inherent meaning, but you must construct it. You should build the most stable, functional, and coherent model of reality and meaning possible. Treat beliefs as provision models, not truth, update them when they fail avoid both blind belief and total skepticism and continuous calibration between mind and world. > No certainty, no direct reality, no inherent meaning — but still constrained existence requiring structured interpretation.
